What is Green Tea and its Health Benefits?

Green tea is a type of tea that is made from Camellia sinensis leaves and buds. Green tea originated in China, and since then it has spread to other countries in East Asia. We use Sri Lankan Green tea made from Ceylon Tea.

All tea types except herbal ones, are brewed from the dried leaves of Camellia sinensis bush. The level of oxidation of the leaves determines the type of tea. Green tea is made of unoxidized leaves, and it is one of the least processed types of tea. Therefore, it contains the most antioxidants and beneficial polyphenols. (Megan Ware, 2023)
